Home Story: Julie Wittrup Pladsbjerg
A wandering mind crowded with thoughts became Julie's pathway into the world of knitted art. Her home in Aalborg is an extension of her artistic spirit, filled with art pieces and vintage finds, it serves as a space to both play and recharge.
Julie’s keen eye for aesthetics is evident in both her beautiful home and her unique knit art. Julie found her way into art as an outlet for the pressure she experienced as a new mother, embracing the thoughts and transforming it into something tactile. With a mind that never seems to stay still, she finds her creative inspiration.
Her home is a vibrant reflection of her personality, with playful details and a harmonious blend of colors. From large, colorful knit art on the walls to bright curtains and a variety of colorful furniture, every element contributes to the overall sense of warmth and comfort. She describes her home as a calm haven for her and her family, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a sense of coherence and tranquility in their living space. Despite its vibrant appearance, she explains that the interconnectedness of the decor creates a soothing atmosphere.
"I love the coherence in our rooms. It's important to maintain a sense of calm in our home, even though others might see it as colorful or different. To me, it feels calm because everything is connected. Also, you won't find any black in our home; it stands out in my eyes. I prefer a more toned-down approach."
“I see my home as an extension of my art. I find joy in the playful exploration of various materials, colors, and textures, creating a harmonious blend that reflects the personalities of the ones who lives here.”

Working a lot from home, amplifies the importance of home being a calm and safe space. It hasn’t always been easy to separate the two, spending as many hours online as she does. Throwing away her expectations of “perfect” and showing a more real version of herself was her way out, and is what you experience looking at her content.
Around her dining table, you will spot a mix of different dining chairs, including Social®️ Tilt and Social®️ Turn in different colors. “Social®️ Tilt is my daughter's favorite chair. She's a bit restless and finds it hard to sit still for long periods, but the gentle rocking motion it provides during meals at the dining table has made it her absolute favorite."
